If you’re ready for an edit, proofread, or critique, this is a great time to book it! As the sign above says, I’m giving 10% off ALL edits, proofreads, and critiques from November 27, 2024 to January 31, 2025.
If you’re not quite ready to hire me as your editor, but you will be ready before March 31, 2025, you can book your edit during the Holiday Gift Sale, and claim it when you’re ready (only until March 31, though.) Get your request in before January 31 in order to take advantage of this.
One note: I won’t be editing over the holidays, from December 21 to January 5, but you can still send your email request, and I’ll respond in the order requests have been sent in when I get back to work on January 6.

I specialize in KidLit (picture books, chapter books, middle grade and young adult fiction.)
I offer copy editing, critiques/developmental editing, proofreading, and query package critiques.
For copy editing, I consider adult fiction (no erotica or graphic violence), memoir, and children’s non-fiction on a case-by-case basis.
About My Rates
- Rates are per page, with a page being the industry standard 250 words, 12-point font.
- All charges are in Canadian dollars. To see what the cost is in your currency, use a currency conversion site like xe.com. For example, $5.50 Canadian is approximately $4.10 U.S.; $6.50 Canadian is approximately $4.80 U.S.; $7.50 is approximately $5.55 U.S.
- NOTE: The actual charge will depend on the exchange rate the day you pay the invoice.
- My rates are in line with the rates listing on the Editorial Freelancers Association website, allowing for the difference between Canadian and US dollars. This generally means, for American clients, that the rate is lower than it looks.
- I invoice after the project is complete, using PayPal. You don’t need a PayPal account to pay the invoice.
- The invoice will be in Canadian dollars. PayPal does the currency conversion.
- NOTE: if you are a resident of the Canadian province of Saskatchewan, I must charge PST.
