This is like being in a warm rainshower of joy these days, with all the awards that have been coming my way.
My gratitude goes to Kirsten W. Larson at Creating Curious Kids for presenting me with the Liebster Blog Award. Thanks so much, Kirsten.
When you click on “read more” you’ll learn five things about me that you’d likely never even thought to wonder about, and you’ll have a chance to meet five worthy bloggers as I pass the award along.
First a bit about the Liebster Blog Award:
Now, five exceedingly random things about me.
1. Although I’m right-handed, I do most things that require skill and/or strength with my left hand (things such as opening jars, or opening milk cartons, for example).
2. When shopping for clothes, I am invariably and irresistibly drawn to the shiny, the sparkly and the glamorous. Unfortunately, my lifestyle is not one that calls for many clothes of this sort.
3. When I particularly like a book or a movie, I read/watch it so many times that I can quote whole sections.
4. Much to the consternation of many of my friends (and the flat-out disgust of a few) , I absolutely love puns.
5. When I was taking typing in high school, I vowed I would never earn my living typing. Guess what I’ve done in nearly all the jobs I’ve had over the years? I also vowed I’d never be a librarian. Although not an actual librarian, guess where I worked for 23 years of my life? 😉

Now the fun part. Introducing you to bloggers. May I have the envelope please? (Cue the drumroll…) The Liebster Award goes to
Alison Kipnis Hertz, whose blog is On My Mind
Angela Peña Dahle, whose blog is A Pen in Neverland
Laura Miller, whose blog is Laura Miller, Illustrator
Kerie Frances Miller, whose blog is Illustration Junky
Susan Barclay, whose blog is Notes from Innisfree
Enjoy their blogs, and spread the Liebster far and wide!
I have always thought ambidexterity a useful skill! Now, number 2 I would never have guessed. I think LASCBWI could cope with some glam!!
One day, for some reason, I decided to try opening a milk carton with my right hand and it was unbelievably awkward and difficult! I’d never thought about it before.
I assure you there are sequins and sparkles and satin in my closet — I hope the theme of this year’s LA SCBWI Saturday night party lets me show some of it off!
YAY for you!! 🙂
Thanks, Erik!
I think No. 2 is great. You want your outside to shine like your inside. 🙂 Lots of fun tidbits. Typing is an essential skill. I actually worry about kids today, because schools are forcing them to work on keyboards early. My sister works with children and she says they express frustration that the keyboard letters aren’t in order of the alphabet. Of course, they don’t get any keyboard training until much later in their elementary school. By then, they have weird keyboard habits. Oh, I digress…. Congrats on the award.
Thanks, Stacy!
I hadn’t realized that kids are made to work on keyboards so early, and without training. That is ghastly!
Congrats on all the awards! You deserve them 🙂 I do some weird stuff with my left-hand, too… pouring is a big one – I’m right-handed but I almost never pour with that hand.
Thank you Susanna! I pour with my right, but everything else… left. It’s weird, isn’t it?
Congratulations! How wonderful to have the recognition times 4! I absolutely love number 2, everyone needs a little glam in their lives.
Thanks, Heather! “everyone needs a little glam in their lives” — YES!
Beth!! Congratulations!!!!!
::applauds wildly::
TOTALLY DeserVed!
Ahhh…..puns…gotta love’m.
And being ambidextrous is brilliant!
(sorry for not being around….I’ve been fighting copyright messes and deleting all my blogs, etc.)
I thought you were on FB??? Are you? Why do I think I saw a FB link here at some point? I’m there now. Would friend you.
Robin! Thank you so much.
Sorry you’ve been having copyright hassles. *hugs*)
I’m on FB, there was a link on my old blog. I’m there as Beth Stilborn, should be fairly easy to find. Please do friend me!
Congrats and thanks! now to figure out which wonderful bloggers to pass it on to.
You’re welcome! Congrats yourself!
Thanks for the award, Beth! I’ve followed the instructions! 🙂
You’re very welcome, Susan! I’ll pop over to your blog and see your post!
Ha Ha! I took typing in high school and swore the same thing. Guess what I’ve been doing for 40 years! Except now we are blogging, or using the keyboard, or writing. 🙂 Yeah, we are similar with movies. But, I would never have guessed #2. 🙂
I *must* start wearing my bling more!
Thanks, Pat.
Hey Beth, big congrats and thank you! I made sure to care for mine well…you can see on my new post who I passed it along to and I did an illustration up for it too. Lots of fun! Thanks again!
You are so welcome, Kerie — loved your post!
Hahaha, I can relate to 2-4!
